Comment:
Gordian worms These are commonly called hair worms and belong to the phylum Nematomorpha and can be confused with human parasites. The adult worms are slender 10 - 50 cm long x 1mm wide with a blunt round anterior end. Human infection occurs when the free living adults are accidently ingested or when the juvenile worms in their insect host are ingested in drinking water or food. Not pathogenic and any symptoms are psychological.
